I still like the slider on the Priv though, but glad someone is building a keyboard still.

[UPDATE 2/25 8:40AM]

Seems like some info leaked from the official page when they were test-posting it.

Snapdragon 625

3GB RAM

32GB Storage

4.5" 1680x1080 443ppi

Touch-sensitive Smart Keyboard with Fingerprint Sensor

12MP rear camera

8MP front camera with flash

“Price Group” for a flagship (est. 600 EUR / 650 USD)

If that price is true, it’s DOA. But I guess it does support Band 13 LTE for Verizon even if it’s unlocked...

I would strongly consider that phone if it is mostly stock android, priced right, and available on Verizon. The odds of all three are slim. But I would be amused telling people I have a Blackberry then whipping that out.

Oh the Android is definitely near stock. You can get the launcher and try for yourself, just minor enhancements here and there, it was mostly to add the starburst notifications.

I love my Blackberry especially with the keyboard. I thought I was due an upgrade sooner, but alas not. Just need to find a carrier or stockist as O2 probably won’t take it on as they are so geared up for Apple stuff.

Just buy unlocked direct from BlackBerry. I did and joined my device to the early update release “Beta” program.

I started with a curve 8900 and switched to a torch, then a bold 9900 to a Z10. Have a Z30 now. I miss typing messages by feel under the table in a meeting. I want to jump to a priv or the newer ones. I don’t want a permanent keyboard on the face. I like my full screen frontage. Torch was my best choice layout wise.

Unfortunately, I think our next round of work phones will be idiotPhones. That phone looks tight. Love it.

Funny thing is, our company used to be a BB7 shop, rolled out a failed BB10 pilot, scrapped it and went with Good (now BlackBerry) Work on iPhone as the corporate phone, but they would heavily push you to BYOD with zero reimbursements.

Strangely enough, a few months ago they started issuing Classics.

I don’t think they will ever hit the popularity they once had, but an android device with BB support will be my go to outside of work if I ever need a personal.

I honestly can’t wait. I have a passport for work and I’ve already gotten ready to transfer over to this. iMessage is too good for personal life, but the blackberry don’t die.

Where you see that? It’s not on the FCC yet.

And 399 USD / 499 CAD is reasonable, it replaces the Classic.

Unless I see an FCC document stating it has been tested for the CDMA EV-DO and/or LTE band 13, I don’t think it’s safe to say it’s confirmed.

Verizon seems possible even on the unlocked one. There are variants with LTE 13 support, so it’ll run on the LTE/XLTE network.

$650 for something with a snapdragon 625? What a ripoff.

Actual price now set at $549. Still $150 too much IMO. $399-449 is much more reasonable if they want to get into the Android game.

This should have been par with the Z Play, which are both 625/3/32 with a distinctive hardware feature.
